Leo the Leopard Gecko

If you’re looking for a place to take your family on the weekends, go to Bear Creek Nature Center. Located about 20 minutes south of  Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, we are a great place to stop for a hike or learn something new. Teach your kids the importance of taking care of the environment through our education programs. You can also go hiking on our nature trail and be immersed in our beautiful environment. Our admission is only $5 for the first person and parking and $3 for each additional person over age three, so we are an affordable destination for your next adventure.

Who We Are

Teddy, our Mascot

Bear Creek Nature Center is a private non-profit started to spread the joy of nature and the outdoor world. Since opening in the Spring of 2020, our goal is to teach children and families about our environment, hoping that they will be more environmentally aware of their actions. We teach a wide range of environmental and wildlife sciences, including zoology, botany, and ecology.

We’re proud to be the only nature center in Georgia with live bats on exhibit. We also have several reptiles and birds of prey living with us as education animals. They help us make sure everyone gets to see nature in up close and stays safe doing it.

Environment-Focused Education Programs
