🎢VIBE: A lil’ community festival about bats and their habitats put on by local volunteers of all ages. Family-friendly and open to all. It’s choose-your-own adventure so come anytime. There is fun for all ages–there are activities for children and adults alike!

🎨THINGS TO DO: Admission includes arts and crafts, canoes, hiking trails, live animal encounters and talks throughout the day, scientist and artist booths, nature areas, live music, and more. Additional funds may be used to purchase items from our gift shop or the local vendors.

πŸ₯ͺFOOD: All-day with @snacksonthego and PTC Grill
(We have various eating areas including a picnic pavilion, campfire area, nature area benches, tables and chairs, wrap-around porch, and hike-able spots where you can picnic if you so choose!)

🎸 Live music with The Lava Walkers

🌸NATIVE PLANT SALE: All-day with Cottage Garden Natives. Let us know if you need to swing your car to the front to pick up a load of purchased plants.

πŸ¦‡BAT TALKS:
Intro to Bats @ 3pm, 5pm, and 7 pm (Brief chat about bat adaptations and meet live bats)
Bats of GA @ 4pm (Learn about the bat species of GA specifically and what our scientists do to learn about them)
How to Help Bats @ 6 pm (Learn about what you can do to promote bat habitat and advocate for these creatures in your area)

πŸ‘£BAT WALK: Stick around to the end of the night as it gets dusky. Scientists lead a bat-detecting walk and we hope to witness wild bats. They usually come out for a ‘drink’ by the pond. You can catch good views on the deck. Feel free to bring binoculars.

🐒HOW TO PREP FOR THE DAY: Come dressed comfortably with good shoes for outdoor activities (some dress up for fun). We have spaces inside and outside in the shade to chill. Stay fueled up with food trucks, but you can also bring your own picnic. Some stay for 3+ hours and make a day of it; there’s so much to do! We have accessible pathways.

πŸ¦‡BATS FOR REAL? Yes! We have a resident fruit bat colony as well as rescued native little brown bats (stay tuned for more)!

πŸ‚CAN’T MAKE IT? Our bats reside with us year-round. Come visit us anytime we are open Tues-Sat from 11am-4pm. We have a spring festival in April (think Bat Fest lite) and a reptile festival in June.
